Preparing for tests should encompass more than just mock tests; such an approach is based on rote-learning methods which encourage students to simply memorise solutions to various problems. Instead, we provide meaningful support by encouraging our students to truly understand how to approach an array of different question styles.
This method has been embedded into all of our exam preparation programs, focused on developing students’ thinking skills and accompanying knowledge and capabilities. Test practice is incorporated on a meaningful scale, to ensure students are also developing related confidence and time-management skills.
Our Opportunity Class program challenges and extends students’ ability, in preparation for the Opportunity Class Placement Test. This program and associated mock tests have been completely updated to accommodate the latest NSW curriculum changes.
- The course fosters skills and capabilities in the areas of reading, mathematics and thinking skills
- Exam techniques and associated confidence are enhanced
- Students will complete one test each lesson under exam conditions, before reviewing their work as a class with their tutor
- Mock test and review sessions are also held during the Term 2 school holidays

Our O.C. mock test and review sessions are designed to enhance explicit test related skills, such as exam strategies and related confidence.
Students complete mock tests for each area tested in the Opportunity Class Placement test, before reviewing their work with their tutor.
- Students will undertake tests that simulate the Opportunity Class Placement Test (Reading, mathematical reasoning and thinking skills)
- Tests are reviewed as a class with students upon completion
- Students are supplied with revision work after sitting the three mock tests
- A great opportunity for students to consolidate all the work completed in the course to-date
- Explicit focus on exam techniques and enhancement of students’ confidence
